Purpose of this page

This web page is designed to reverse complement a short DNA sequence. The sequence may contain ambiguous (IUPAC 1-letter code abbreviations) nucleotides.

Copy your sequence in to the upper text box and then press the submit button. The amount of sequence it will accept is limited to 5000 characters including spaces and numbers. If you copy and paste more than this it will truncate input with out warning.

To format the reverse complement sequence set the options below. The line length is set using the textbox and is limited to between 40 to 100 bases. If this value is not set or is set outside these values no line breaks will be added.
